In Norway, a large collection of graphics by the painter Edvard Munch (yes, the one who painted The Scream) is on show. But the exhibit in the Stenersen Museum in Oslo is no ordinary show. The exhibited works are on display in a room with no lighting. The audience have to use torches to see anything at all. The museum feels that this is the only way of showing Munch's graphics collection. And the people? They are fine with it. They even feel it adds to the experience of studying the pictures, making it more of an exploration than a regular viewing...

How about this for a stunt? Two eccentric sportsmen carried an ironing board part way up the Mount Everest. They ironed a Union flag 5.440 metres above sea level. 'Extreme ironing', they call it.

And the winner of the 2003 Fashion Icon Award by the Council of Fashion Designers America (CDFA) is.... Nicole Kidman! Previous winners were Lauren Bacall, Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren and Elizabeth Taylor.
" Nicole Kidman's style, both on and off the screen, has had an undeniable impact on fashion," said the executive director of CFDA. " As an actress, she has developed her many memorable characters with an innate understanding of the artistry of clothes. At the same time, she has elegantly established her personal style and own iconic presence worldwide".
Amen to that!

It's important for diabetes patients to monitor their blood sugar level. Maybe soon this monitoring might be as easy as looking in the mirror.
"The idea has researchers at the University of Pittsburgh working on a contact lens that measures glucose levels. They are trying to create a contact lens with a chemical sensor at the edge that can be worn by everyone, even those who don't need vision correction.
Patients would be able to determine their glucose levels by looking in a mirror and comparing the color of the sensing material to a chart."

The best ever parting shot in movie history? " I'll be back", spoken by the Terminator in the 1984 film. Thus concluded film fans. The oneliner even outdid the also famous line " Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" from Gone With The Wind (Clark Gable to Vivien Leigh).
